Centenarians Take the Spotlight at City Charter Anniversary Rites

Five centenarians from the various barangays of Urdaneta City took the spotlight as the City celebrated its 19th City Charter Anniversary last 21 March 2017 in simple yet meaningful celebrations at the Old City Hall.

The centenarians who were feted by Mayor Amadeo Gregorio Perez IV, Vice Mayor Julio Parayno III, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod were: Victoriana Barles, 102, of Barangay Camanang; Maria Gavino, 102, of Barangay Labit Proper; Feliciana Mendoza, 101, of Barangay Camantiles; Marcelina Santos, 101, of Barangay Dilan-Paurido; and Magdalena Eugenio, 100, of Barangay Nancamaliran West.

The awardees received plaques of citations as well as cash incentives from the City Government. 

Also given recognition during the program were 30 Child Development Workers who received loyalty awards for having rendered at least 15 years of service. 

The weeklong City Charter festivities included a tree planting and citywide cleanup drive, a bloodletting activity, jobs fair, and mass wedding.
